‘On the Farm’ Exhibit to Open at Marbles Kids Museum
and Meet the Egg Lady!
Grand opening celebration on June 1
Raleigh, N.C. –(May 30, 2013)—Visitors to Marbles Kids Museum can play ‘On the Farm’ when the museum opens its newest exhibit June 1. The new ‘On the Farm’ exhibit at Marbles is a fresh addition to Around Town, the popular first floor gallery where kids take charge and explore how people live, work and play together. In addition to the ‘On the Farm’ exhibit, families will also discover many other renovations to Around Town including bigger train tables, more seating and a brand new performance stage with costumes and puppet play.
‘On the Farm’ showcases the importance of agriculture in North Carolina communities and offers children and families hands-on experience caring for farm animals and planting and harvesting crops.
“We are really excited to add farm play to the exhibit experience at Marbles,” said Sally Edwards, president of Marbles Kids Museum. “Farming is such an important part of our state, and we welcome the opportunity to connect our museum visitors to modern North Carolina farming in a fun and playful way.”
“Many children today do not have the opportunity to visit real working farms to learn where their food comes from and how it is grown”, said Jan Kelly, Executive Director of the NC Egg Farmers Association. “North Carolina’s Egg Farmers are so eggs-cited to be one of the sponsors of this new fun interactive educational exhibit in the Marbles Museum.”
The grand re-opening of Around Town featuring the new ‘On the Farm’ exhibit is June 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a day of farm fun for the whole family. Hop on big farm equipment in the courtyard, feed the cows, collect eggs from the chickens, and meet the Egg Lady!
