Easy Breakfast & Lunch Recipes to Kick Off the School Year


August is National Back-to-School Month, and while kids may be bummed that summer is over and it’s time to head back to the classroom, these easy, nutritious breakfast and lunch ideas are sure to make the transition easier (and tastier).  

There are so many benefits to making eggs a staple in your kids’ diets, such as the high amounts of choline in eggs that support brain health and development. And with only 70 calories per large egg, they also come packed with 6 grams of protein, helping children feel energized and ready for the school day ahead of them. 



Puff Pastry Galettes with Eggs – These are a more nutritious substitution for the sugary pastries that may be a go-to when you’re in a rush to get out the door before school. You can also add some bacon crumbles or cubed ham for a little extra protein! 

Basic Cheese Quiche – Our favorite part about this dish is that you can make it over the weekend, save it in the fridge and pop a few slices in the microwave for a quick breakfast before school all week! 

Breakfast Pizza – Who doesn’t love pizza for breakfast? Get kids in on the fun and have them help make this dish. That way, they can customize it with whatever toppings they like, too! 



Hard-Boiled Egg Bento Box – The premise of bento boxes is centered around promoting healthy meals in a convenient yet aesthetically pleasing way. If you have a picky middle-schooler, this is definitely the way to go and helps fit in a little bit of each food group. 

Caesar Egg Salad Wrap – This recipe is an excellent source of vitamin A, which can boost the immune system and help curb those common colds that kids might pick up and bring home.
